Work as a Sideman

Since moving to New York in 1992 Joris has established himself as an in-demand sideman, performing with jazz legends such as Randy Brecker, Benny Golson and Rashied Ali. Read more here or check his discography as a sideman.

Composer and Bandleader

Joris has been composing and arranging for other artists as well as for his own projects. He wrote two jazz symphonies and all the repertoire for his own NY big-band. He has 15 albums out as a leader or co-leader.

Educator

Joris Teepe is the Director of Jazz Studies at the Prince Claus Conservatory in Groningen, the Netherlands, where he founded the "New York comes to Groningen" program. He's also on the faculty of Queens College, New York.
